Spent all week working on updating my art portfolio website and submitting one of my art pieces to a gallery in Montreal. It was a lot of work, but fingers crossed that something will come from it!

In the meantime, here is a shot of my favourite buy from the St. Lawrence Market:

The National Parks Project

I've been glued to the screen every time a National Parks Project episode comes on Discovery Channel Canada. In every episode three different musicians and a filmmaker set off to explore the beauty of Canada's National Parks. Each filmmaker is responsible for shooting a short film while the musicians jam surrounded by nature providing the soundtrack.

Musicians that participated in the project include: Sarah Harmer, Jim Guthrie, Sam Roberts, Sebastian Grainger and John K. Samson. The intro animation on the show has impecable art and the really well designed NationalParksProject.ca allows you to explore the parks on your own and watch all 13 of short films.

The result of these collaborations are very immersive, beautiful and moving short films. Here is footage from "Material" by Daniel Cockburn featuring musicians John K. Samson, Christine Fellows and Sandro Perri.

Interactive tea time!

I love, love, love this mug. I would be spinning through my whole cup, and then help myself to a second cup! I drink green tea everyday while working and this would make a great addition to my desk. Unfortunately this design is sold out over at Molla Space, but I can only hope that they make some more! Check it out in action:

I heart

My favourites are looking really good right now! I wish I could afford to buy all of them, but I'm sure they'll find some great homes. *sigh*

Sunday at the Market

R and I spent the afternoon checking out the St. Lawrence Antique Market. I go to the larger rural markets a few times a year, but for some reason find myself at our local spot! It was a great way to spend a beautiful sunny Sunday. I bought some wonderful jewelry for the shop and I know I'll be heading back soon.

In other news I also had my first sale in the shop today! I'm sad to see them go, but I know their new owner will give them a great new home and wear them to the nines!

JUST SOLD

VINTAGE FAMILY

I have a wonderful collection of vintage family photography slides. In fact, my site banner above is from a shot of my Grandmother. I'm grateful to have such beautiful documentation of how my ancestors lived. I'll be sharing some of my favourites from time to time. Here is my Grandma again on a beautiful spring day.

Inspired: The Royal Wedding earrings

One of my favourite details from Friday's Royal wedding were the diamond acorn earrings given to Kate Middleton by her parents. Here are my acorn themed Etsy picks:
